I'm a little surprised this hasn't been reviewed yet! We've been hitting CC for years now. It's a staple in our yearly rounds. Overall, it's a very nice course. Nice enough that we don't mind that it's a few strokes short of standard par (35/34). The front 9 is a more traditional midwest course. There's some elevation change, but trees are your enemy. Several holes have woods lining one or both sides, so be wary of that. Some of the holes are quite challenging like #4 - a long par-3 that you have to hit the green on (falling short leaves you in a unhittable valley - going long puts you in tall grass). This is a beautiful, peaceful, and classic 9 holes. The back 9 is more "links style", where the layout is a little more open, but the undulating fairways, many bunkers, and tall grassy mounds force you to think about your shots. The #3 par-4 plays long, as you need to hit a long enough tee shot to even think about approaching the green with your second. It's a zig-zag layout you don't see often. #9 coming back to the clubhouse is a long par 5 that dips down and back up - a few rounds ago we found ourselves on the tee box looking at a deer in the fairway... just hanging out... Just about any course in the Dells is scenic, and CC is no exception. When spring is in full swing, the "green" really pops here. It's beautiful. Watch for the spring/fall "buck buck days" special where you can pay $1/hole (including cart). You can't beat that. As the season gets rolling, the rates crank up. Yep, the tourists visiting the Dells are happy to pay more for golf, but I cringe at the higher rates...
